As a physician-scientist, my career has focused on using scientific evidence to understand what works and doesn’t work in helping patients, and then doing everything in my power to ensure they proceed down a path toward better health.
In the past few years I have turned my attention as a wellness doctor toward guiding others to live longer and with renewed energy as they age.
I am board-certified in Internal Medicine, have published roughly 180 peer-reviewed scientific articles, and received a Ph.D. in health policy from the RAND Corporation. I worked with managed care for a decade, the electronic health records industry for 7 years, the pharmaceutical industry for 10 years, and guided a DC-based think tank before retirement.
Most recently, I led a health policy research organization in Washington DC (National Pharmaceutical Council) and was its Chief Science Officer, Executive Vice-President, and Interim Chief Executive Officer.
I was previously the Chief Medical Officer of Cerner Life Sciences. Before that, I co-founded Protocare Sciences and was its Executive Vice President, and Chief Medical Officer, and later became CEO.
I received my bachelor’s degree from Harvard College, my MD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and my Ph.D. from the RAND Graduate School.

As an Ironman Triathlete, I have competed in endurance events for 30 years, and continue to compete. Exercise has been proven to enhance overall health and longevity, so you better believe I will remain active for as long as possible.
I am passionate about helping people live as long as possible with the energy to do what they love–that’s what really matters. I believe that life is meant to be enjoyed and I truly hope that I can inspire you to live your life to the fullest.
My focus as a wellness doctor has always been on figuring out what works & doesn’t work in helping people. I am now pivoting that skill set to teach others how to live long and well through scientifically-backed, easy-to-follow, practical insights for improved health.
We have developed Madrone Springs Ranch where you can do exactly that...and have Dr. Bobby as your guide.
Reprioritize your health and finally get back on your path toward enhanced wellness.
Scientific research underscores the intricate interplay between lifestyle factors and human health. Exercise, a cornerstone of well-being, enhances cardiovascular health, boosts mood, and promotes cognitive function. Coupled with proper nutrition, it fosters optimal physical performance and supports immune function. Beyond the individual, social ties exert profound effects on health, buffering against stress and enhancing longevity. Meanwhile, exposure to hot and cold environments elicits physiological adaptations, bolstering resilience and metabolic efficiency. Adequate sleep, essential for cognitive consolidation and metabolic regulation, underscores the importance of restorative rest. Moreover, the mind-body harmony underscores the intricate relationship between mental and physical health, highlighting the profound impact of mindfulness and stress management on overall well-being. Integrating these factors into daily life cultivates a holistic approach to health promotion and disease prevention.
